The player controls Joanna Dark, a new special agent for the fictional agency, the Carrington Institute. On her first mission, she must uncover the sinister plans of dataDyne, the world's leading developer of new technology. Things become complicated rapidly as she finds herself in the middle of a war between two alien races who have allied themselves with different factions on Earth. The game has been generally well received. While some critics considered the relatively unchanged game to be outdated, most agreed that the title was a great revival of a classic.
